The National Memorial is a memorial dedicated to the memory of the freedom fighters and civilian Bengalis and non-Bengalis who died in the Bangladesh War of Independence. It is located in Savar. It was designed by architect Syed Mainul Hossain. There are ten mass graves of those who died in the Liberation War.It is customary to pay tribute at this memorial when foreign statesmen come on official visits to Bangladesh.
